Fayette LIFE Academy is proud to announce its rebranding, now offering middle and high school students the opportunity to achieve a high school diploma through nontraditional paths. LIFE stands for Limitless, Innovative, and Flexible Education, and provides three distinct programs: Horizon Academy, Open Campus Academy, and Fayette Virtual Academy. With these options, students have the chance to explore self-paced learning, structured learning environments, independent work monitored by certified teachers, and the option to take classes virtually from home.
Fayette LIFE Academy was delighted to host Fayetteville City Mayor Edward Johnson and Fayetteville City Manager Ray Gibson for a tour of the academy. They were welcomed by Dr. Margo Wimbish, dean of students; Chris Key, assistant program administrator; Anna Singleton, instructional assistant; and John McLucas, virtual teacher, who proudly shared the details about all the innovative educational programs, providing the opportunity for students to gain a high school diploma through nontraditional paths.
Dr. Wimbish highlighted the academy’s rebranding and how LIFE stands for much more than just words that describe the academy. She explained that many students have difficulty in traditional school settings and need an alternative path to build their future. Fayette LIFE Academy provides them with a flexible schedule, allowing students to work to support themselves and their families while also earning their high school diplomas. As evidence of this, Dr. Wimbish shared the story of two students with a child who were allowed to find success through Fayette LIFE Academy.
In addition, the Mayor and City Manager are looking forward to partnering with Fayette LIFE Academy to help with upcoming projects and initiatives.
