Piedmont Healthcare is investing in the health of its local community with a $200,000 Community Benefit program donation across 21 non-profits designated to improve access to healthcare and strengthen public health outcomes. The grant recipients are organizations located in the areas with Piedmont’s 22 hospitals, including Fayette CARE Clinic and Healing Bridge Clinic, which provide free medical care and resources. Piedmont Healthcare is proud to announce its community benefit program, which seeks to improve the health and well-being of its communities and has donated $200,000 to 21 community clinics. The organizations serve the local areas surrounding each of Piedmont’s 22 hospitals, with grants ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 per organization. Thomas Worthy, vice president of government and external affairs at Piedmont Healthcare, expressed that these clinics are essential in providing access to healthcare in the area, and these donations will help strengthen the nonprofit organizations and create healthier and livelier communities.
From the proceeds of these donations, the Fayette CARE Clinic and the Healing Bridge Clinic each received $5,000. Healing Bridge Clinic is a comprehensive medical clinic that serves patients from Fayette and the adjacent counties. In contrast, the Fayette CARE Clinic serves low-income and uninsured citizens of Fayette County and the surrounding area. Both organizations focus on providing direct service, access to leading and specialty care, and community-based health support services. They also offer medical intervention, health education, preventative care and resources at no cost to their clients.
