Expert on Creating Terrariums to Speak at Fayette Master Gardener Association

Gardening and ecology hobbyist, Andrew Mowatt, is an expert in creating terrariums. He has created and restored various types, from handheld mossariums to 50-gallon tropical vivariums. On Tuesday, August 15, Mowatt will speak at the Fayette Master Gardener Association public meeting in Peachtree City. The meeting will be held at The Bridge Community Center, starting with a social hour at 9:30 a.m. and the presentation at 10 a.m. All public members are welcome to attend the FMGA monthly meetings and events.

Terrariums are the ideal solution for nature lovers who want to bring a bit of the outdoors inside but don’t want to put in a lot of effort. They are also great for people who live in cramped quarters. They are landscapes that have a natural appearance and take on the form of micro-ecosystems. These landscapes can be anything from arid to tropical. Mowatt, who has been making terrariums for years, will share his knowledge on making and restoring various types of terrariums and possible plants to use, maintenance, and even suggestions for decorating the terrariums. His lecture will be beneficial because it will be very informative, engaging, and full of tips and tricks that will help listeners design their unique terrariums.

For those unfamiliar with it, the Fayette Master Gardener Association is a community group that does not operate for profit and comprises Master Gardeners and their friends. The general public is welcome to participate in their membership and programs. Through its yearly spring plant sale, open to the general public, the FMGA also provides funding for community horticulture grants and educational activities. If you are interested in applying for one of the funds, you may do so by sending an email to fayettemga@gmail.com. The grants are open to anybody working on a project to encourage community gardening.

The organization’s website, fayettemga.org, is a great place to check out and learn more about what they do and upcoming events. There is no limit to how and where you can use your terrariums – these make excellent conversation starters, great gifts, an impressive addition to your desk, and an all-around elegant piece of scenery. Overall, it’s an excellent chance to gain insight from one of the leading local experts in terrarium creation and to mingle with like-minded individuals at FMGA.

To sum up, creating terrariums is a fascinating and rewarding experience – they add a natural touch and are easy to care for. And what better way to learn than to attend Andrew Mowatt’s August 15, 2017, presentation at The Bridge Community Center, Peachtree City? Anyone interested in gardening, ecology, or just plain in love with greenery will find the presentation informative, inspiring, and fun. It’s not just the knowledge that counts but also the connection to people who share your love for nature and gardening. FMGA is an excellent organization to consider becoming a member of, and we highly recommend checking them out through their website, fayettemga.org. We hope to see you and your green thumbs at the upcoming meeting!
