James Fordham, of Fairburn, Ga., has achieved an incredible feat: riding the newly opened ArieForce One roller coaster at Fun Spot America Atlanta in Fayetteville 1,000 times in its first three months of operation. The ride, which reaches top speeds of 64 miles per hour, has been overwhelmingly well-received by guests since its grand opening in March, receiving positive feedback from both coaster newcomers and seasoned aficionados alike. Fordham set out to conquer this impressive goal before the end of June and succeeded with flying colors.
On June 16th, World Roller Coaster Day, Fordham’s mission was officially accomplished at 5 p.m. EDT, marking an incredible milestone in the history of roller coasters and Fun Spot America Atlanta.
Fordham extended his stay to ensure his dreams of riding the first-of-its-kind coaster, ArieForce One, came true. Fordham was joined by Regional General Manager Andre Corbin and other members of the American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE). The ride platform was abuzz with excitement as they experienced the coaster’s airtime moments and thrilling drop over the park’s arcade building that immediately rotates into a “Chili Dip” barrel roll element. After the ride, the coaster rolled back into its hanger-themed station filled with cheers and high-fives.
Fordham was proud to share his secret for making the most of the ride – “Riding a roller coaster is like skiing. Figure out how and where to move your hips and follow the train’s path. I love it!” Corbin expressed admiration for Fordham’s enthusiasm and support of Fun Spot, saying “It means so much to our entire team – we are proud to be James’ go-to coaster park and excited to ride with him again on his next milestone.”
